Name: Jaskier Door: RIGHT Canon: The Witcher Canon Point: 1x06, just after the start of the dragon hunt Age:30s Appearance: here History: https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Dandelion/Netflix_series Personality: Jaskier is a very resourceful and adaptable young man. When we first see him, he's at the beginning of his career as a bard and not doing particularly well at it. He's getting booed, but that doesn't stop him from wanting to improve and continue working at it. Even when he knows he isn't very good yet, he wants to put the work in to become the bard he wants to be. He's resilient to setbacks and sometimes even finds opportunities in them. Even when he first talks to Geralt, he's pestering him for feedback on his performance and when he doesn't receive much in the way of positive feelings, he spins it into an opportunity for a new muse and decides he could sing about Geralt. He shows comfort in dirty pubs just as easily as he does in a royal court and though he's certainly capable of getting himself into trouble, it's not through a lack of social graces. (Unless one considers sleeping with the wrong people to fall into that). He's shown to be comfortable and polite in court, playing his lute and singing with confidence and only bringing Geralt along to protect him from the blow-back of his sexual exploits. He's not overly delicate, as one might expect, because he's used to traveling around and often by himself save for the times he travels with Geralt. He's clearly capable of keeping himself safe when he's not with Geralt, though it's likely more due to his using street smarts and his mouth to keep himself away from danger than his ability to combat danger when it shows up in front of him. He's much more the man to walk around the danger or find a way to outsmart it or out-talk it. This is because he knows where his skills lie and where they don't. He's no coward, but he's only a little foolish with his own safety and he's often shown to do it purely because he knows Geralt is there to take care of whatever they may need to fight. When he and Geralt are held captive, he's more concerned for his lute than his own safety while Geralt is the one to yell that he's only a bard. Once they're released, he's given a new lute which he winds up admiring just as much as he admires the elf who gives it to him. In fact, other than singing, Talking is one of his greatest skills. He often doesn't know when to shut up, almost as if he can't stand silence. This is especially exacerbated by the fact that Geralt is a man of little words, leaving Jaskier to fill in much of their conversation by himself, inferring things from grunts and hums as if they're full sentences. He's incredibly empathetic, more sensitive to what he thinks people mean than what they say, which is why he's so confident in saying that Geralt and he are friends, even when Geralt claims they are not. He knows the man cares about him and has shown that caring in his own way and the claim that they aren't friends doesn't put him off of wanting to travel with Geralt whenever their paths cross. He's also not afraid to point out when Geralt is wrong or when he's lying. Geralt tells him that he doesn't like to be involved in human affairs, but Jaskier can't help immediately pointing out that he does just that fairly regularly. Still, this sensitivity can blow back and hurt him when the wrong thing is said and he takes it to heart, especially from someone he cares about like Gerart. He's quite a bit stubborn, too. Once he believes something or wants something, he will fight for it, whether it's becoming a better bard, following a lonely man on a dangerous adventure for a story or getting that dangerous man to accompany him to a court when he'd rather be anywhere else. Though his stubbornness often leads him to gains where Geralt is involved, it can just as easily ruin him without the right circumstances to net him a win. His thirst can get him into a bit of trouble, whether it's thirst for feedback on his singing or his lust for the spouses of important men who could and likely would kill him if they knew. There's an almost desperate need in him to follow his heart, which doesn't always lead him in a good direction, because he seems to fall in love with everyone he meets just a little. Powers and Abilities: He's an ordinary man and an excellent musician.
